Dancing in Your Mother's Skin - Hedwig Dances

Dancing in Your Mother’s Skin (1991)

Description

Created around the release of Dancing In My Mother’s Skin, a book of poetry by Jean Howard and striking black and white photos by Alice Q. Hargrave, the accompanying dance, like the book, is structured in three sections: “Home,” “Heart-throb” and ‘The Folks.” The movement is based on gestures found in pedestrian street activity that demonstrates a noir-like desperation.
