HOME – A Place Within (2021)

Description

“Home – A Place Within,” a virtual performance choreographed by Ana Beatriz Perez, uses the house as a metaphor to reflect on the refuge, intimacy, and comfort homes provide. Architectural and geometric elements are destined to be inhabited. Our home accompanies us from birth and provides us with meaning throughout our lives. The house is us.

In an alienating, changing and unpredictable world, four individuals with different lives await the moment when they can meet again. Everyone is waiting. They live their day to-day and talk about their past, their childhood dreams, their fantasies. While everything may be changing outside, something also begins to change within them.

We are the tangible result of our experiences. How much of what we have lived accompany us? Grandma’s kitchen, the creaking door, the doorknob where we put our clothes, the darkness of the corridor, we could close our eyes and remember the house of our childhood. The simplest places, our favorite corner and the perfect hideaway.
