Description
This piece is based on a poem by the mystic Sufi poet Rumi. The concept centers on metamorphosis of the spirit. It was previewed at the Chicago Cultural Center in a concert with visiting Brazilian composer Fernando Sardo who created music for the dance. Rumi Dance was later premiered in March at the Teatro Nacional Manuel Bonilla in Teguci-galpa, Honduras.
“Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground” -Rumi
